About the motif
A muted landscape in the spirit of East Asian ink painting depicts a misty mountain scenery over a calm water surface. At the center of the composition, a lone boat with a fisherman drifts across a lake, and in the background the silhouettes of mountains gradually dissolve into the mist, creating an effect of infinite depth.
